4 Fabulously Refreshing Summer Party Drinks

There’s nothing like quaffing a cool, refreshing and delightfully sweet drink under the summer sun, or to enjoy with a perfect al fresco twilight dinner.

Vibrant, colourful and packed with lots of flavour – you’ll want to make these up in a super-sized jug, as you’ll be surprised at how quickly you get through it.

Best of all, all of these summer party drinks are alcohol-free – making them ideal to serve at family-friendly get togethers, or simply when you want to enjoy a great drink at any time of the day!

Summer Party Drink #1: Raspberry Iced Tea

The ruby red hue of this refreshing twist on a summer classic makes this a great addition to the party table. Who needs decorations when you’ve already got a stunner like this?

  • 3 litres water
  • 10 black tea bags
  • 350g frozen raspberries (thawed)
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • 1 cup sugar

Boil half the water and add sugar, stirring to dissolve. Add teabags and steep for 5-10 minutes, before removing.

In another pan, boil the remaining water and add thawed raspberries. Simmer for 5 minutes, then strain to remove fruit pieces.

Combine the two and add lime juice. Chill until ready to serve.

Summer Party Drink #2: Lemon and Mint Cooler

A hint of lemony tartness brings a holiday flavour to this refreshing, minty drink. Juicing all those lemons will be well worth it when you’ve had a sip!

  • 10-12 large lemons, juiced
  • 2 litres water
  • 2 large handfuls fresh mint leaves (approx. 1 cup)
  • 100 ml carbonated water
  • ½ cup sugar (more to taste)
  • Fresh lemon slices and ice

Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher and stir. Add sugar gradually, tasting to adjust and add more if you prefer a sweeter result. Add ice and lemon slices just before serving.


Summer Party Drink #3: Strawberry Margarita

This brightly coloured gem of a drink is the perfect choice for summer parties – garnished with fruit and rimmed with tinted sugar, it’s a delightful non-alcoholic twist on a classic margarita, but is also a fun and funky drink for kids to enjoy too!

Ingredients (per drink)

  • 1 tsp fresh lime juice
  • t tbsp. liquid sweetener (you can use a fruit based syrup, honey or other sweetener of your choice)
  • 100g strawberries
  • carbonated water
  • 1 slice of lime to garnish
  • Dyed sugar to garnish
  • Ice cubes

To prepare the coloured sugar, add sugar to a zip-lock plastic bag. Add 5-10 drops of food dye, seal the bag and mix through until all the sugar is evenly dyed.

Sprinkle the sugar onto a baking sheet or tray and work through any lumps to break them down. Allow to dry.

Combine fresh strawberries, lime juice, sweetener and ice in a blender until smooth. Prepare the glass by dampening the rim and pressing into sugar to cover. Pour blended mixture into the glass and top up with carbonated water, and a slice of lime to garnish.

Serve immediately.

Watermelon really is the taste of summer – so what better way to celebrate than with a big, refreshing glass of this fantastic drink?


  • 1 whole small watermelon, cut into large cubes
  • 2 litre lemonade
  • Ice

Puree the watermelon first in a blender. Add lemonade and combine. Add ice cubes and serve immediately.

A famous non-alcoholic drink and a classic in it’s own right, the Shirley Temple is the perfect alternative to alcoholic drinks. Get ready to share the recipe!

Ingredients Per Glass:

  • Cold ginger ale
  • Splash of grenadine or pomegranate juice
  • Splash of lime juice
  • 1 Maraschino cherry
  • 1 Slice of orange

How to Serve:

  • Pour all the ingredients into a suitable high ball glass and stir.
  • Garnish with the cherry and orange slice
  • Serve and enjoy!

If you’re looking for a fun alternative non-alcoholic drink then we think we have the one for you; a blueberry, lemon and ginger ale! A very refreshing drink that will make a great addition to any party or occasion.

Ingredients Per Glass:

  • 2 Tbsp fresh blueberries
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 Fresh mint leaves
  • Cold ginger ale
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slice & cherry to decorate

How to Serve:

  • Put the blueberries, lemon juice and mint leaves in a suitable high ball glass and press crush slightly until you can see the blueberries start to release their juice.
  • Add 3-4 ice cubes
  • Pour the cold ginger ale into the glass and mix well.
  • Garnish the glass with the lemon slice and cherry.
  • Serve and enjoy!

A mocktail alternative to the original minty drink is sure to be a big hit with everyone. Perfect as an after dinner drink.

Ingredients Per Glass:

  • Juice of 1½ limes
  • 1 Tsp sugar
  • 5 Fresh mint leaves
  • Chilled soda water
  • Crushed Ice

How to Serve:

  • Crush the sugar and mint leaves together with one end of a rolling pin.
  • Add the crushed ice into a suitable high ball glass, pour over the lime juice and add the mint and sugar mix.
  • Pour the chilled soda water into the glass until full.
  • Serve and enjoy!
